Micheal Collumb proved he has the class to go to Q-school later this month and win his tour card  with an outstanding display against the worlds top pros winning the annual Scottish pro Am held in Glasgow, having dispatched the talented Thia Threpchia Un-nooh in his first round the “weaz” as hes affectionately known to his pals faced 14 year old Liam Graham, a match that could have went either way was won by the experience of 30 year old Collumb 4-2.

In the semi final he beat former Masters and UK champion Mathew Stevens by the same scoreline after a nervy black ball respot in the 6th frame which Collumb took. Such as the high standard of the field the final was always going to be his toughest challenge and they don’t come any harder than the 2006 World Champion Graeme Dott.

The former world number 2 looked set to lift the trophy leading 3-1 but Collumb dug deep and produced some quality to secure the biggest victory of his career to date winning 4-3. 

The £2000 first prize will cover Micheals costs for the upcoming Q-school but it’s the confidence and belief he can take from his winning performance this weekend that could see him achieve his lifelong goal and become a tour Pro.

The champ was sporting the Snookerfans.co.uk logo this weekend and from all the team we wish him a huge congratulations on his victory and all the best of luck in his upcoming quest later this month.
