Ross Muir won the Q-school qualifier event 3 at the weekend in Locarno snooker club in Edinburgh. He beat former fellow pro Micheal Leslie 4-2 in the final. A 32 man strong field turned up to do battle but the former pros were the 2 outstanding players of the day. Muir only fell off the tour last season and should fancy his chances of regaining his tour card, Micheal Leslie hasn’t played snooker for a few years since he fell off the tour but the snookerfans qualifier inspired him to take the cue out again. His long potting and break building was of a top 32 in the world standard and with his experience of already playing on the tour and the maturity of that now on his side he also should fancy another shot at the tour as his talent belongs there.
In attendance at the weekend we had the privilege of four referees that gave up their spare time to give this qualifier the professionalism the calibre of player deserved. A huge thank you to Colin Whitelaw, Tommy Patrick, Roy Bartsch and Kulvinder Kainth.
Also anyone that hasn’t been should check out the Locarno snooker club in Edinburgh they have a first class facility for any level of snooker player. Thank you to Anne and Paul for their brilliant hospitality and our amazing photographer for the day Ag Berecka.
Due to the demand we will be looking to do quite a few more Scottish qualifiers over the coming months so stay tuned for dates.
